Dear Friends,

As we approach the closing on the Zuni/Utah property for the Hindu Temple Society of New Mexico (HTSNM), on behalf of the Board of Trustees I wish to share with you some photographs and a few details about the property. Attached are three pictures of the building which currently houses a credit union. The two-story building has approximately 6,000 sq. ft. of space and it sits on a fully-paved lot that is 0.6 acre in size. Only a couple of formalities remain before we are able to close on this property in early April. It has been our goal since the purchase offer was made to get at least two year‘s worth of mortgage payments pledged before the closing date. Several people have come forward with cash donations and pledges. However, we are still looking for about $40,000 in pledges and/or donations to reach that goal. The down-payment and closing costs will use up most of our current cash resources; we need cash in the bank for routine operations and the ability to make monthly mortgage payments. We are grateful to several families for contributing or pledging a combined amount of $72,000. Won‘t you please pledge one month‘s mortgage payment ($3,500) now so we can remain financially viable and continue to provide a valuable service to the Hindu Community? If you wish to make a smaller or larger cash donation, that too helps us a lot. As always, any donation is welcome and would be received with gratitude. We will inform the community upon closing and plan to have a celebration soon after that auspicious day.
